Meet our Champion's & upcoming stars

This past year we have enjoyed watching Vickie, Rocky,  Caroline, Belle, Liza, Sweetie, & Chip finish their championships. What a thrill. All have been featured in the National Miniature Dachshund Digest magazine as well as Buddy. Sonny finished his championship on 7/27/07 at 11 months old. On Nov. 18th Ch. Southwinds Coco Puff ML our chocolate dapple girls finsihed her championship one more Champion. In Dec. Moe, Ch. Southwinds One Moe Time celebrated is Championship win in Mississippi. In July "Sadie" followed her grandmother, "Vickie" & Dad "Sonny"by finishing her championship.

 The Biggest Thrill of our life was this summer June 2008 when our cream boy Ch. Southwinds Sun Rise ML went to the National Mini Dachshund Speciality Show & won Best of Variety in Longhair's out of all the longhair dogs entered from all over the country & elsewhere. He is just 1 1/2 years old. What a guy. Check his picture out !

"DD", Southwinds Daphne Delight ML also started her show career at the National Shows. At just 7 1/2 months old & her first shows out she took Best of Opposite 2 days for Big Major points. The next weekend she went to Orlando & took Best of Winners for another Major. She finished her show career with another major win in SC completing her championship at just 9 months with a total of 18 points 4 major wins in 9 shows.

Next out was Julia our little longhair girl out of Sonny who wasted no time & finished her championship in 4 shows with 18 points.  Mighty Might, M & M, our stunning clear red mini longhair male finished his championship in no in 6 shows.  Southwinds Painted Warrior MLD finished his championship in 7 shows and Southwinds Sweet Carolyne ML "Carolyne" finally got those last 2 majors to finish her championship. This was a tough time to find majors.

Gem our smooth girl has just started showing & has won the 4 shows she was entered in so far.  All she needs is one major. Gem has decided she would rather stay home & try to be a mom & then go back & finish her championship.

Southwinds Queen of Hearts ML "Gypsy" our lovely red mini longhair girl headed out to show in Jan. 2011 & finished her Championship in April at Mini National Weekend. Way to go Gypsy!

Southwinds Caroline On My Minds ML, "Bessie" finished her championship in Aug. 2011 with 4 major wins. She is the sister to Carolyne, Cookie, & Gabriel who have already finished their championships. Now that entire litter are champions.

 A very special thanks to our wonderful handler Marietta Singleton for the outstanding job she does with handling our dogs in the ring. Most of all for the wonderful love & care she gives them when they are away from home on the road with her.

Ch. Southwinds Fancy Pants ML Our first champion & Marsha Buchanan who handled her so beautifully. Marsha passed away this Oct. 2008 and will be missed by all who knew her so well. Fancy produced many offsprings you can pick out anywhere. Some of her most well known are "Moe", "Fancy Nancy", "Daphne", & "Fancy Dancer". Fancy is now happly retired living a wonderful life of comfort with a wonderful family & comes to visit us often. Thank you Fancy for all your love & the pleasure of watching you show your beautiful body in the ring.

Ch. Add-Sim's Victoria ML , Vickie, mother of the creams Ch. Southwinds Cream Mora ML "Sweetie" & Southwinds Cream Mate ML " Buddy" & now add the newest Ch. Southwinds Sun Rise ML "Sonny" and soon to be taking their place in the ring, Southwinds Blonds Hav Mor Fun ML, Southwinds Queen Of Hearts ML, & Southwinds Shades Of Blond ML." Vickie" retired this year.

Ch. Southwinds Sweet Caroline ML mother of Belle & Julia only 2 outstanding off-springs. Her last litter produced 4 future Ch.'s; one male in Kanas, 2 girls "Bessie" & "Caroline" we are going to show and one girl who is already winning in Russia & will be traveling around the world, "Cookie". Caroline is now retiring to the wonderful life of a couch potato. She produce many stunning champions who will carry on she movement, structure & temperament. Caroline was one of our best champion producing dogs & her off springs are caring on her lines.

Ch. Add-Sim's Wee Robbie ML father of Ch. Southwinds Fancy Pants ML "Fancy". Robbie is happily retired and enjoying the good life with Billy Walker.

Meet Ch. Southwinds Chip Off The Rock ML son of "Rocky". You like dad, well he is even nicer in a slightly smaller package.

Meet Ch. Petalpusher Showtime MS, Liza, our lovely little smooth girl with her first major win at Brooksville shows. She finished her championship with 4 majors & 2 points! Way to go Liza!

Meet Ch. Southwinds Cream Mora ML "Sweetie". Sweetie's first show out at 10 months old she took the major and everyones hearts. She's never stopped wagging her tail & demanding everyone "just look at me". Don't stop now Sweetie. We are so proud of you.

Ch. Southwinds Silver Belle MLD, daughter of Caroline, jumped in the ring in VA. & NY. After 8 shows she has her championship. Way to go Belle! Belle is the proud mother of Ch. Southwinds Painted Warrior MLD "Paint" our stunning chocolate dapple boy.

Ch. Southwinds Sun Rise ML win's Best of Variety Longhair at National Mini Dachshund Speciality Show at 20 months old. Way to go Sonny!

Meet Ch. Southwinds One Moe Time ML, a beautiful chocolate & tan mini longhair, as he joins our growing group of finished champions.

Meet Ch. Southwinds Coco Puff MLD our lovely chocolate & tan dapple mini longhair girl. She finished her Ch. with 4 majors & 3 points. In Ocala, she won all 4 days beating mostly standard dachshunds. Way to go Tootsie!

Ch. Southwinds Sun Rise ML started showing at 10 months & finished his championship at 11 months. For his final show he won Winners Dog, Best of Breed, & Best Of Variety for a 5 point major. What a stunning cream boy! He has produced many outstanding puppies who are now in the ring showing or have already completed their championships.

Ch. Southwinds Daphne Delight MLD win's big at National Mini Speciality Shows taking Best of Winners, Best of Opposite in Longhairs 3 days at only 71/2 months old. She took her final win & major in SC for her Ch. on July 24 th at 9 months & 9 shows.

Ch. Southwinds Mighty Might ML, M&M, Dawn & Danny's beautiful boy! He looks big but only weights 11 lbs. He has a beautiful standard head & is a low rider. He is already producing beautiful puppies who tend to be smaller if you are looking to produce small puppies.

Well just check new Ch.Southwinds Sadie ML out. She made grandmother "Vickie" & dad "Sonny" proud as she follows in their foot steps. Just look at her. She finished with a BIG WIN just like them.

Meet Ch. Southwinds Pretty Woman ML, "Julia", out of "Caroline" & "Sonny". "Julia" won Best of Opposite over 5 Special bitches, Best of Winners for a 5 point major and in a different division she won Best Puppy out of 23 puppies entered. Quite a day, wouldn't you say?

Meet Southwinds Long Ryde Home MLD "Ryder" son of Ch. Southwinds Coco Puff MLD "Tootsie" & Ch. Southwinds Chip Off The Rock ML "Chip". This was Ryder's first time in the ring & what a nice win?

Meet Ch. Add-Sim's Smucker MS our newest champion. Smucker is a beautiful red smooth stud who just completed his championship in Aug. 2008.

Meet Southwinds Black Gem MS our newest star on her way to becomming a champion.

This little chocolate dapple boy is named Ch.Southwinds Painted Warrior MLD. His first 4 shows he won 3 Winners Dog & Best of Winners. Paint won his championship in just 7 shows. Paint is now living in Russia where he is already a Champion & plans to become an International Champion. We are so proud of you, Paint.

Ch. Southwinds Queen Of Hearts ML "Gyspy" started showing in Jan. of 2011 in selected shows. . She is out of Ch. Add-Sim Victoria ML "Vickie" & Ch. Sylmar's River Walk Blues MLC. She is making her parents proud as she follows in their paw prints.

Ch. Southwinds Sweet Carolyne ML follows her mother Ch. Southwinds Sweet Caroline ML & father, Ch. Southwinds Sun Rise ML . "Carolyne" showed in only slected shows and won. Congradulations Carolyne!

This lovely little cream mini longhair girl is Southwinds Blond's Hav Mor Fun MLC "Blondie". She is just 11 months & waiting her turn in the show ring.

Ch.Southwinds Caroline On My Mind ML,"Bessie" first show in the ring wins with a 5 point major. The next day she followed with another 5 point major. At the end of 7 shows "Bessie had two 5 point majors, one 4 point major & one 3 point major. What a gal! "Bessie " is out of Ch. Southwinds Sweet Caroline ML, "Caroline" & Ch. Southwinds Sun Rise ML, "Sonny". who produced a litter of champion puppies; "Carolyne", "Cookie"(who lives in Russia & has 3 country titles) & "Grabiel" their brother are already champions.

This beautiful little girl is Lady Diana & Sonny enjoying some relaxing time after showing.

This is our beautiful Lady Diana. She never liked the show ring but could have been a beautiful champion. Instead, she greets everyone who comes to our home & shows them what a beautiful longhair dachshund should look & behave like.

Ch. Southwinds Sun Rise MLC "Sonny" & Ch. Southwinds Cream Mora MLC "Sweetie" brother & sister from two different litters. They were our first cream champions.

Southwinds Return to Me ML "Sissy" is a beautiful little red smooth out of Liza & Smuckers. She has not yet had her turn in the show ring but will have no problems winning when she takes her turn.
